Momento: Private Journal Diary App Reviews

LOVE this app

This is a very cool app! Love that I can post on here without worrying if i want it to be kept private. I know FB has an "only me" button but this is more a cross between a journal and FB. its really neat!

Great, but flawed

This is an example of a brilliantly designed app with a critical flaw. It stores all of your media in full resolution, meaning you are keeping full copies on both your phone (in the photos app) and inside the app. This cuts your overall storage in half. This app is by far the biggest storage hog on my phone. So much so, I dont think I can continue to use it. I dont have anymore room on my phone to do so. I really do love the app, but it just isnt sustainable long term without a different storage system. I get the issues with using a referenced storage system where if you delete a photo from the phone you lose it in Momento, but there has to be a medium ground where it references photos until (and if) they are deleted, at which point, it transfers the full image over so you dont lose it from a post. Until this gets rectified, Im sing Day One, another great app for journaling.

High quality app to store memories but not perfect

Ive been a user for two years and like the addition of backing it up on the iCloud. This is a great app with highly customized reminder options. However, Im giving it 4 stars because it lacks a web-based portal where users can also compose entries on a laptop/desktop through an Internet browser. It would be nice to see more features.

The Free version is better

No calendar view.

Years of my life live in this app.

Ive used this app to record daily events for the past 3 years and all I can say is that I wish I started sooner! The ability to easily find, remember, and enjoy the events from my lifes history is invaluable and this app does a great job.

Still a great app

The original Momento was kind of my go-to when I told people about awesome iPhone apps. It just worked so well and hit all the checkboxes on my list of what I would want from a journaling app. This one was a bit rough out the gate, it didnt have a lot of the things the previous one did, but over the last few months these guys have been working feverishly to get it back to that level and I would say its almost there! (Yes, Im talking about the lack of landscape, which was in the previous one.) Anyways, they still deserve 5 stars from me because this app is still awesome!

Awesome!!!!

This app takes all your past social media and calibrate them into a customizable library already default formatted for you!

Very good!

The interface can be a little difficult at times (not letting you delete a single picture when they were uploaded as a group; events showing you the entire days they occurred on and only being consecutive days) but I really like this app. Its made me more aware of how much I use social media and it gives me a better sense of what my days were like. And I use it like a mini journal to keep track of what I was feeling and doing. I like it a lot,

Great Journal

If this app did not reminding me on a daily basis I would never put in a journal entry love to look back at the photos on days that I had some fun good good app

Best journaling app / update

I used the classic Momento for 3+ years. I still want: better capabilities when exporting (something actually readable with the pictures) and iPad/OS X support. Oh and the lost functionality of having photos taken in the app remain private.

Missing calendar feature

I found the old version 2.9.6 was better than the current version 3.2.1. The old version had calendar but the new version dont, with the calendar I can write whatever happen in the past. Now with the new version I cant.

Disappointed

This app was just prematurely released. When accessing entries youre taken in to a labyrinth. Good luck finding what you want. Once you create an entry you cant add pictures to it. You have to delete it and redo it. Unnecessary previews everywhere. Cant save images directly into the app. Ive been struggling with it for two weeks now and I still havent figure out how to use it.

Awesome new release!

Thanks for listening to customers! Best journaling hands down.

Nice UI

I always liked the UI for the original version of this app, and for the most part thats still true of Momento 3, but there are still a couple of features I think the old version had that would be GREAT to have. It could really use the ability to use arrow buttons (or continuous scrolling) to go from one day to the next when viewing ALL of the text for each day instead of having to jump back to a condensed list or calendar view. It could also use a setting for when days begin/end so entries made after midnight dont end up under the following day.

Momento 3.3 is the Bombdiggity!

They gave me back all the features I missed most from my Momento Classic so now I have the absolute best combination of both the new and the old. There is no other diary/journaling app out there that can do what this one does and track better than it can track. I dare you to find even one! Its worth every penny and then some if you write and travel as frequently as I do. Now, if I can just get that iPad version out of them so I can go back to typing in landscape again instead of getting a crook in my neck looking sideways as I type (heehee!) Ill be all set! Just ordered that new iPad Pro with the 256GB so I got space now, baby! Bring it on!

Almost perfect!

Now that this app is much improved, I took the plunge and upgraded from Momento Classic. I have one small request. If you could please please re-enable the Flickr feed, my world would be perfect. I do love the new UI! It’s a pleasure to use.

Originally disappointed. Now ecstatic!

Actively used the original app and was happy with the ability to capture and review all my social media interactions in one place. Was very disappointed when the feed connections started failing. Got to a point where I completely stopped using the app all together. Now this new and completely redesigned version comes out and Im back to my old ways. Use Momento daily. Not only that but the vastly improved user interface makes it even better. How much better? I have over 100 apps on my iOS devices but have only written five or so reviews. I just wrote a full two paragraphs on my experiences with Momento. That alone should speak volumes.

Beautiful

Love this very useful app

Lack of Accuracy on Filters / Tag etc

App Interface and integration with social sites is a great idea but Momento app really need to be more accurate and specific on filters. Under the Explore tab, PEOPLE, PLACES & TAGS options created in a purpose to enable users to view specific data / entries only at ease. But, Momento app shows all irrelevant datas / entries even under a specific TAG or keyword search which doesnt fulfil the purpose of using a Tag or Keyword search or filters. When u sell an app, try providing what exactly the user wants and not just what u wanted to provide.

Works well

No experience with another similar app, but it does when I want it to do n
